Our History
Swanson Fire Protection was founded in 2003 by John Swanson with a clear conviction: fire protection work carries responsibility long after construction is complete. The systems installed today must protect people for decades to come.
From the beginning, the company operated with strict adherence to adopted NFPA standards, disciplined field execution, and direct coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). In a regulated industry where hydraulic accuracy, inspection sequencing, and compliance precision determine project outcomes, those standards shaped the company's reputation - and they continue to guide every project today.
A Certified Foundation
John Swanson is a NICET Level III certified professional in Water-Based Systems Layout and remains actively involved in technical oversight and advisory leadership within the company.
He built Swanson as a technically grounded organization - one where certified competence, code compliance, and accountability to general contractors came first. Customers who partnered with John understood the expectation: systems must be designed correctly, installed with discipline, and delivered inspection-ready.
That expectation remains operational.
Structured Growth, Same Standard
In 2021, Swanson Fire Protection entered a new phase of structured growth through partnership with Baymark Partners. This alignment introduced expanded operational resources and governance structure to support multi-state expansion and long-term stability.
The company's scale evolved.
Its standard did not.
Today, Swanson operates across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic as a multi-state fire protection platform serving general contractors who require disciplined, inspection-ready system delivery in regulated commercial environments.

John Swanson remains a shareholder and continues to serve as an active advisor and technical contributor. His ongoing involvement reinforces the company's founding principles - technical discipline, regulatory fluency, and execution accountability.
